This is a series of articles on how to customise work-papers. We will cover everything from changing a work item on a page to creating yourself a completely new set of templates. The plan is to start simple and work up, so we suggest you complete these in sequence as tutorials as each will build on the last.
To customise a page go to the Workpaper Masters tab and click on the job type with the page you wish to customise. Say we wish to change the Internal Controls Checklist in the Non-profit Entity template, click on the Non-profit Entity name:

This will open the following page:

Note that items in blue are specific to the job type, and grey items are inherited from the 'General' template.
To access the internal controls checklist open the 'B' section by clicking the cross:

Notice that the Checklist is already blue because it is a 'Non-profit Entity' version.
Click on the name and you will open the page in edit mode. It will look like this:

Selecting 'Duplicate' will open the following screen:

We will come back to the options on this page later, but for now for simply changing some work steps just select 'Save'. The page will then change to this:

Notice that although it is still a Non-profit Entity template, it is now branded with your firm name rather than Audit Assistant.
The grey box at the top contains the default aim of the page and any comments made on previous amendments. When you have finished making your adjustments before you publish I suggest you add a brief comment in there as to what changes you made and why for future reference.
Now you can edit or delete work items:

Selecting edit will bring up this:

Leaving aside the other options for now, simply edit the text and save. Note that bolding text is achieved but placing asterisks at either end of the words to be emphasised.
Then save, edit any other work items and publish. Next session we will look at moving, deleting and headings.
Note: there is no need to publish immediately. Pages may be left as work in progress and published at a later date. An unpublished page will appear in the index like this:
