Q. I'm looking at getting an iPhone for tethering my laptop for mobile internet. What data level do I need?

A. I’ve never used more than 300Mb in a month and that’s including when I’ve been on the road using iPhone tethering extensively. So I would say that the 500Mb plan would be well sufficient. Audit Assistant itself doesn’t use much data – it’s only when you try to upload a lot of larger attachments that you could push it up.

I find the iPhone on a $40 plan exceptionally economical – it’s worth considering the ‘friends and family’ option for team members that you call a lot. Matt and I use this and our total all-up cost per month for data, phone, text etc is usually not much over $100 combined and we both use our phones quite a lot.
