This new template is ready to use.

It allows the features of Audit Assistant to be used for creating paperless work-files for your compilation engagement work.  This will be great for using contractors and out-work. It will also be particularly useful for collecting data from the client (ability to share client information checklist and for them to complete on-line).

Using Audit Assistant for a normal compilation job the process would be as follows:

  1. Create the new job using the 'Compilation' client type.
  2. Complete independence checklist and engagement letter work-papers.
  3. Go to the 'client communication' page and share 'items required checklist' with the client, asking them to either fill to information in the boxes or to add attachments (sections on this page can be hidden if not required).
  4. Upload the client's trial balance from their software after converting to CSV (or from your own software).
  5. Sort into sections using drag and drop them create lead schedules based on TB.
  6. Work through remainder of planning section noting particular issues specific to the job.
  7. Complete work-papers as appropriate attaching reconciliations provided by client plus your own excel/word/PDF/scanned documents as required for GST recs, imputation credit accounts, client correspondence, .
  8. Create journals as required along with key issues, follow-ups, management letter points.
  9. Complete FRS checklists as required.
  10. Post list of journals created back to your GL software, attach PDF of final accounts into file along with PDF ledger and TB.
  11. Prepare tax returns on your software and attach PDF's to file.

In future we plan to start a library of various sorts of reconciliations and reports that you will be able to download and use as attachments. We will also add the ability to create a basic set of financial statements.

Please try this out and give us feedback on what we could add to make this more useful for you (we are planning on adding more functionality in our next update).
