One of the side-effects of our recent upgrade to the latest version of jQuery is that many of the bugs and quirks in IE8 have now disappeared. 

So although still not up to the full speed of Chrome IE8 is in most respects functioning very well. Anyone using IE7 is encouraged to upgrade (a message to that effect will appear shortly when you try to use Audit Assistant on IE7).
