Audit Assistant 2026 (v26) is faster, smoother, and brings a more consistent experience across the platform. Once v26 is switched on for your firm, all your jobs open in the new version automatically. There's a transition window of about four to six weeks where you can switch back to the classic version if needed.
If you're already on V3, this will feel very familiar. If you're coming from V2, it'll look more modern and should be easier to use. v26 works with all your existing templates, plus the new templates we're releasing shortly.

Context Menus — The Big One
The biggest change in v26 is how you access options. You can now right-click on almost anything on a page to get a menu with the actions that apply to that exact item.
You'll also see a three-dots button in many places — click it to get the same options.
Everything that used to sit as separate buttons now lives in these menus. Same actions, same place, right across Audit Assistant. Once you learn it in one spot, you know it everywhere.
Risks
Adding a risk has moved — you can now find it in the context menu, either by right-clicking on an annotation or by clicking the three-dot context button.
Annotations
A quick note on language: anytime you add further documentation to a step, that's now called an annotation. It's what used to be the little triangle button off to the side — same idea, clearer name.
You can add an annotation with the annotation button, or right-click and add it from the context menu.
If you've got multiple annotations on a step, you can drag them to reorder however you like.
Themes
You can now change the look of Audit Assistant. There are three modes:
- Light mode
- Dark mode
- High contrast mode
Pick whatever's easiest on your eyes.
Split View
You can open a page or attachment in split view. Right-click the page — either in the sidebar or a link on the page you're working on — and choose Open in Split View. Now you've got two screens side by side, so you can work across both at once.
- Hide the sidebar for more room by clicking the lines in the bottom toolbar
- Drag to resize the split panels
- Show the sidebar again by moving your mouse to the left edge — it slides back in
- Close split view from the top-right corner
User Presence
You can now see who else is in the file. You'll see their name in the file, which page they're on, and if you click in, you can see the exact step they're working on.
Trial Balance
In the trial balance, right-click any item to get straight to its options — add a risk, edit an item, and more. You can also use the three-dots button to view available actions.
- Highlight items over materiality — easily spot items that exceed your materiality threshold
- Sticky column headers — when you scroll down, the header row stays visible at the top
Adjustments
When you create a journal entry or audit adjustment, you can now set an adjustment type:
- Actual adjustment
- Judgmental
- Extrapolated
- Reclassification
- Client adjustment
Wrap-Up
That's what's new in v26 — a lot of small quality-of-life improvements that add up to a smoother, more effective audit engagement.
