Our new-look job interface incorporates all the old Audit Assistant, but the location is changed in some cases.
We are we making these changes?
This is a transitional step to our version three (V3) interface, incorporating the V3 look and feel on the existing pages and wider interface. Then we can begin to swap our parts for the new V3 trial balance, tables, risk tools etc. These changes are also designed to bring the design language into more unity with the rest of Audit Assistant and use more modern styles. We also address some of the clutter in the side-bar, which has evolved without redesign from our original 2009 version.
Key Features
New Sidebar
This includes a search bar, to find any page by typing a few characters.
The Job Summary includes key aspects of the job, including year ended, template, key dates, assigned staff, primary contact, job progress, materiality, overall risks, prior year files, and deadlines all on one page. We may extend this further in time.
The Pending Work tab combines what was in the Follow Ups, Review Notes, Pages Concluded, Shares and Requests all into one view.
The Contacts tab is more or less the same as before, also linking to requests given to a particular client contact.
The area below provides a scrollable list of all pages and attachments for fast access , and also a way to see where you are in the file. This replaces the tabs at the top right for easy naviagtion to any page.
Attachments show an icon that reflects their nature - an Excel, Word or PDF icon for instance.
Pages will be able to flagged as favourites, replacing the old style tabs at the top left which were pre-set and could not be amended.
New Page-view
The 'breadcrumb' trail at the top shows how the page fits in relationship to its parent pages, and allows navigation back up the tree.
The Export button that used to be in the sidebar is now at the top right. This allows the user to make a full PDF copy of the job at any stage, including attachments if required.
The Customise, Share, and Print Page buttons that used to be at the bottom right are now at the top right corner of the page.
New page controls
Instead of the green ticks and red arrows to the right we now have lines to the left that change colour as pages are complete. Completed pages also get ticks (for colour-blind friendliness).
Dropdown boxes for adding extra content now only show when hovering over the woprk item to remove some clutter.
Removing the colour from the buttons is easier on the eye and is in line with current design standards.
