"Hot" or "Live" reviews
Where a job is to be peer reviewed by a practitioner from another firm for Quality Control purposes the practitioner has to add the reviewer to his account as a user with peer reviewer status. When the reviewer has accepted the invitation the firm can add him to the job. The reviewer will only see jobs that they are added to, nothing else.
The practitioner then needs to create the relevant checklist in their audit file as a Quality Control Reviewer as follows:
They will then create the checklist that the peer reviewer will complete and sign off. They may also add review notes.
The reviewer gains access to the other firm by switching accounts from the dropdown where their firm name is displayed (if they are already and AA user).
If they are not a user they just follow the link in the email invitation from the firm.
After the fact or "Cold" reviews
Again the reviewer is set up as user as above. In this case the job will have already been signed off and the review is a feedback on the completed job. The reviewer is added to the job but will not add any review notes but may complete their own report.
If the job has been rolled over the practitioner may just share the completed PDF (in which case there is no need to add them as a peer reviewer user). However another option is to make a temporary duplicate of the job back to it's pre-rollover state for review. If the reviewer is an AA user there is template that contains a file review tool (one for audits and one for review engagements). These are under the Business Administration category:
To access these create a new client/job and search for "Review Tool."
These take the reviewer through about 80 key points and allow the reviewer to mark as complied or add a comment, attachment or link. At the end the review document is converted to a PDF and sent back to the firm. See example:
